Region-specific management options
Within the framework of work package 9, both, possible positive effects of subsoil management for crop production and limitations of subsoil management due to geogenic, pedogenic, climatic, agro-structural and socio-economic factors, are analyzed and evaluated on a region-specific and site-differentiated basis. The objectives of the work package are to identify region-specific site-optimized subsoil management practices, to identify and designate regions and sites that can benefit most from targeted subsoil management, and to identify and designate region- and site-specific constraints that limit various targeted subsoil management practices. Natural site factors as well as agro-structural and agro-economic factors will be considered. Within the framework of feasibility studies supported by model approaches, both the feasibility and the effect of site-optimized subsoil management are analyzed and evaluated on practical farms in different regions.
