Socio-economic impacts of subsoil management

Work package 10 analyzes the socio-economic impacts of alternative subsoil management options and their acceptance by relevant stakeholders and decision makers. The analysis takes place on three levels. First, the costs and effects of alternative management options are analyzed at the farm level (cost-effectiveness analysis). In parallel, the external costs and benefits of alternative management options are determined at the societal level, including impacts on ecosystem services provided (cost-benefit analysis). The results are incorporated into a social acceptance analysis that uses participatory methods to evaluate the potential for implementing alternative management options. Based on this, policy recommendations for effective and efficient subsoil management will be developed.
